Some places have hosted a good gathering or two. Grey Rock Mansion has been doing it for generations. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this Pikesville estate welcomes corporate and social events for up to 150 guests. Raise a glass in the Terrace Room, step onto the patio for fresh air, and gather for dinner beneath the Pavilion's chandeliers, with the gardens just beyond the clear wall. For smaller occasions, the Buffet Room offers a more intimate setting for corporate gatherings that require more privacy.

The house has been here since 1857, when Dr. James Maynard, a Baltimore County physician, built an Italian villa-style home and named it for the gray stone of its walls. It has since hosted garden tours, charity events, and Baltimore society gatherings, and today it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Cocktails move into the Terrace Room, where dark hardwood floors, a built-in bar with a mirror behind it, and a curved staircase at the far end sit under brass chandeliers. From there the evening settles into the clear-walled Pavilion, where string lights and chandeliers hang beneath a gabled translucent roof and the lawn, the gardens, and the white stucco mansion stay in view. A smaller Buffet Room is available for smaller guest counts, and two get-ready suites are available if needed.
